Halliwells choose Lynx to deploy IP telephony
solution and LAN network
Halliwells LLP, one of the fastest growing commercial law Firms in the
UK, chose Lynx to deploy their IP telephony solution and LAN network.
Following a sustained period of growth, Halliwells selected 3 Hardman
Square, Spinningfields as the location for its prestigious new Manchester
headquarters. With plans to occupy around 180,000 sq ft of this newly
constructed office building, the premises are to become a truly first
rate environment for Halliwells people and clients.
Initially to house around 800 people, the office required a modern, flexible
and secure communication infrastructure and, as part of the project to
fit out the offices, the decision was made to deploy an IP-based telephony
and communications network.
Dene Rowe, IT Director at Halliwells, "Our business is growing rapidly
and we needed an IT infrastructure that was capable of supporting the
needs of the business today and the demands of the future. By deploying
an IP-based telephony system, we can deliver information and network services
to users when and where they need them."
After a detailed vendor evaluation process, Lynx was selected as the partner
to deliver core ICT services, including the design, implementation and
ongoing support of the LAN and IP Telephony solution, capable of supporting
up to 1500 users. With wireless access across the whole building, Halliwells
needed a partner who understood the issues involved in deploying a solution
that met the needs of the business.
The implementation, which is based on a Cisco network, utilises a number
of industry leading partners to ensure Halliwells communications needs
are catered for.
Rowe continues, "During the selection process, Lynx stood out from
the other companies that we were talking to. The depth of knowledge that
the Lynx consultants displayed and their proactive approach gave us the
confidence in their ability to deploy the solution for Halliwells."
Halliwells is a UK top 30 law firm with offices in Manchester, London,
Liverpool and Sheffield.
